It’s official, Khloé Kardashian and Mario Lopez are the official new hosts of X Factor. The two are to co-host the second season of Fox’s reality singing competition, it was confirmed on Tuesday.
Oh yes, the two are going to have much more to do on a Thursday night than playing partycasino.com and chatting to their Twitter followers. Kardashian and Lopez are joining newbies Britney Spears and Demi Lovato, who now sit on the judging panel alongside L.A. Reid and Simon Cowell.
Lopez and Kardashian are replacing Steve Jones in hosting the show, after the Welsh presenter was axed at the end of the last season, alongside former judges Nicole Sherzinger and Paula Abdul. That said, everybody already new they had the job. Simon just hadn’t confirmed it in a statement until now.
“The worst kept secret in Hollywood is out. Mario and Khloé are our hosts,” Cowell said. “They will début on our first live show in November and I couldn’t be happier.”
And of course the two newbies seem to be thrilled with bagging the jobs too. Lopez, who presents Extra!, had this to say:
“I’m very excited to be joining the X Factor team. I love the show, and I’ve been a big fan of Simon Cowell and the judges for a long time. Khloé and I have been friends for years and I know we’ll be a great team and have a blast.”
Meanwhile Khloé added, that she is thrilled to be a new member of the X Factor family. “I’ve been a big fan of the show and look forward to working with Simon and all of the judges. It’s going to be so much fun!”
The hosts are to make their show début in November, when the live shows begin. Fingers crossed there isn’t another mass cull of stars at the end of season two.
