Q: Tell fans a bit more about the new visual “Make It or Take It.”
Hoolie: “Make It or Take It” is basically me taking fans to where I came from and showing them where I am now. I’m at a Make-It-or-Take standpoint, meaning either I make it and work it out or I take a couple risks.”
Q: It was premiered by Billboard, how did that feel?
Hoolie: “It felt like an accomplishment, coming from the hood, and making it to Billboard. It was great seeing everybody response. Mad e it out the hood.”
Q: Last year, you went on tour alongside Chief Keef. How was that experience?
Hoolie: “It was dope! Just being everywhere, on our own budget, like a [mainstream] rapper. Going state-to-state, meeting new people, performing in front of new people, making them aware of your artistry and getting them to rock with you. When I first started performing, I was paying for showcases. Now, it all comes down to this moment, getting my stage presence ready and seeing how I work the crowd.”
Q: What are you currently working on?
Hoolie: “I have an EP out right now called “Look At Me Now”. You can find it on Spotify. I’m currently working on an LP for the ladies, so look out for that. I have a lot of videos out on YouTube, my channel is, Hoolie Gu. You can follow my Instagram [Hoolie Gu] to get all updates. I also have ‘Best of Hoolie Gu Vol. 1, 2, & 3’ dropping, which is a collection of songs tracing my growth throughout my career. Vol. 1 is currently out on DatPiff. I will be dropping Vol. 2 very soon. The third volume will drop along with another project. ‘Best of Hoolie Gu’ will provide fans with more content.”
Q: Where do you see yourself in 5 years?
Hoolie: “In 5 years, I see myself as the owner of Hoolie Records, a multimillion-dollar company. I hope to be a positive role model in the community, helping millions of kids, and making others follow lead.”
Q: If you have one message for fans, what would it be?
Hoolie: “Tell everybody to get ready. We have big things coming!“
