While in UK, the Boy Wonder chopped it up with SoulCulture and told them that his ’02 freestyle over “Victory” was his favorite verse from his catalog:
“It has it’s own special significance to me because it was the first record I was able to perform,” he recalls. “It wasn’t even from an album, it was on a mixtape – it also got me my first cheque outside of G Unit… If I can have a wish in Hip Hop it would be to trade raps with Biggie Smalls – that was the closest I got to that.”

Miss Minaj is ready for her moment in the spotlight and her debut album is loaded with star power: Kanye West, Rihanna, Eminem, Drake, Will.I.Am and more. Not bad for a rap rookie, right? The most anticipated female emcee in a decade comes correct with her first trip to the Big Show. Barbies everywhere are dolled up with Nicki Minaj music blasting out their speakers, and 9 out of 10 fellaz wanna Minaj. That’s a good formula for a cross-over rap star. Only time will tell, but the future is blinding for Ms. Minaj.
For almost a decade Southside Queens native, Lloyd Banks, has been revered as line-for-line one of the most preeminent emcees in hip hop. Banks-aka “The Punch Line King” returns with The Hunger For More 2, a sequel to his 2004 classic debut. Guest features include: Kanye West, Akon, Fabolous, Ryan Leslie, Jeremih, Raekwon, Pusha T, Styles P, 50 Cent and Tony Yayo.

With a quintessential album release approaching (Nov. 22nd) for G-Unit’s current power player Lloyd Banks, YRB stopped by his new home, EMI Music, to converse with the PLK himself. The Queens bred rapper unveils what it was like going the independent route, breaks down Beamer, Benz or Bentley’s explosion onto radio, plus rediscovering past energy not felt since his debut LP and writing The Hunger For More 2 solely under his own direction. Also touched upon is his reaction to Kanye’s praise, recording classic collaborations with West among others and establishing benchmarks for the future wave of rap hopefuls.
