As the countdown begins for Max B and his release from prison, the legendary Coke Wave rapper is already setting the stage for his return to the music scene. In a recently shared snippet of a prison phone call with Young Thug, Max B revealed his mindset and hinted at exciting collaborations on the horizon.

“Man, I’m in here grinding this shit out… Hell yeah, we ’bout to hit the home stretch, baby,” Max B told Thugger during the call.

His excitement didn’t stop there, as he followed up with, “Wassup? We gon’ make some history?”—a tantalizing tease that has fans speculating about a potential joint effort between the two iconic artists. The exact timing of the call is unclear, but the snippet posted to Max’s Instagram story on January 27th, 2025 confirms it took place after Halloween 2024, following Young Thug’s release from custody in his YSL RICO case.

For Max B, the November 9th, 2025 release date marks the end of a 12-year journey behind bars. Initially sentenced to 75 years for his involvement in a botched robbery in 2006. His conviction was later vacated in 2016. A plea deal and subsequent reductions cut his time significantly, allowing him to focus on what’s next: his highly anticipated return to music.

In a phone interview with Joe Budden last year, Max expressed his hunger to get back in the studio and collaborate with the industry’s heavyweights.

“I can’t wait to get in the studio. There’s a lot of artists out there, too many to name. I’m looking forward to working with the big names, the head honchos,” he said. “I’m open for all that, but they gotta be A-list. If this shit ain’t A-list, I can’t fuck with it.”
