Doe Boy Joins Black Fortune For “Mister” Remix
Kicking off 2025, today DMV-bred rising Hip-Hop star Black Fortune returns with the official remix for his explosive recent single “Mister.” The remix, featuring Freebandz wordsmith Doe Boy, follows the one-two punch—”Mister” and “Forrest Gump”—that Fortune punctuated his fall of 2024.
Alongside the new remix, Black Fortune and Doe Boy have teamed up for an official music video, directed by Zae Williams.
The rumbling 808s of “Mister” were already tailor-made for Black Fortune and his grunge-tinged braggadocio. The addition of Doe Boy’s raspy declarations only enhances the energy as the tandem traverses the streets near Landover, MD (Fortune’s beloved hometown) in the visuals, as they plant their flags early in the new year.
Black Fortune pushes forward in 2025, building towards his first project since 2022’s “444.” The trio of projects that preceded it, “OSSHROCK,” “OSSHLORD” and “OSSHMOB,” solidified Fortune’s next-to-blow position in rap’s underground, and highlighted his nostalgic approach to his art.
“How the Wu-Tang Clan was, it was a lot of different artists that added their own clout,” says Fortune.
“They joined together and made a big group out of it. I made the project on some Wu-Tang Clan shit, a lot of different artists together to make OSSHMOB.”
Soon after the release of “OSSHMOB,” Fortune had a firmly established buzz, and received acclaim from the likes of The FADER, HipHopDX, Flaunt, HYPEBEAST, Lyrical Lemonade, and more.
His OSSH mantra, which Fortune says is “not only a lifestyle and a language, but an adjective,” is the rapper’s self-center, and it drives his career thematically. An abstract concept with no set definition, Black Fortune uses it as a tool to keep his friend group close-knit, and his fans in tune with his energy. “If you know, you know,” he says about his calling card.
Stay tuned for a lot more coming from Black Fortune this year.
