Paris Texas Releases Surprise Second EP
Fresh off of releasing their new EP last week, Paris Texas surprises with a second new project, They Left Me With A Gun. Serving as the second of two anthologies that began with last week’s They Left Me With The Sword, the new EP takes a different sonic approach than its predecessor. Where Sword followed a fluid, linear arc to its sound, Gun tears up that script, embracing harsher, experimental sounds across six unpredictable tracks. They Left Me With A Gun is accompanied by a second music video paired with the visual for They Left Me With The Sword, completing the story of these two anthology projects. Both music videos are co-written by Louie Pastel, Felix and Dan Streit, who also directed both EP visuals.
Both EPs were made in the months leading up to Paris Texas embarking on the biggest tour of their career. Louie and Felix are currently on the CHROMAKOPIA world tour with Tyler, The Creator and Lil Yachty, playing six sold out hometown shows at Crypto.com Arena in LA last week before touring up the East Coast. The tour will play shows across North America, The United Kingdom and Europe, and Australia and New Zealand in 2025.
They Left Me With The Sword and They Left Me With A Gun are spiritual sequels to the duo’s 2021 EP Red Hand Akimbo, which included fan-favorite single “girls like drugs.” Louie and Felix are ushering in the next phase of their ever-expanding visions for Paris Texas with these two anthologies, narrated by a secret, eerily familiar voice. On both EPs, the duo took a more collaborative approach than their previous projects, with longtime friends and collaborators Billy Lemos and Dilip Central to it coming together.
With the all-around world-building of their two early EPs Boy Anonymous and Red Hand Akimbo, Paris Texas cemented themselves as one of the most exciting new voices in music with MID AIR, which was critically lauded by the likes of Vulture, i-D, The FADER and more.
Listen to They Left Me With A Gun now, and keep an eye out for more from Paris Texas.
